Inmarsat launches Fleet One for leisure and fishing

aage hempel crame will commercialize the new SAILOR Fleet One terminal, a new voice and data service designed specifically for the maritime leisure and near-shore fishing sectors. Fleet One is on track for launch in the second quarter of this year.

Offering one voice line and data up to 100 kbps, Fleet One is a self-install, plug and play product. The compact terminal and antenna are specially designed for small vessels with limited space.

It will appeal to leisure mariners, including weekend sailors and sport fishing fans, and coastal fishermen.


Fleet One will deliver always-available solutions such as navigation and weather information, e-logs and tracking, as well as general applications like email, social media, texting and voice calls which end-users can also access using their own smartphone via a SIP server.

End-users will also have access to Inmarsat’s free 505 emergency calling service, which connects directly to a Maritime Rescue Coordination Centre.

SAILOR Fleet One is designed to the same high quality standard as the existing SAILOR FleetBroadband product line. The antenna is light and easy to install, even on small boats, and connecting to the below deck equipment is simple.

Also there will be special airtime packages adapted to this small vessel´s needs.
