Aage Hempel Joins Airbus Defence and Space Global Field-Service Alliance
Aage Hempel, the Cadiz, Spain headquartered global marine technology and communication systems integrator, has signed an official service agreement with Airbus Defence and Space on becoming a Field Service Partner. As a new member of the recently formed Airbus Defence and Space Global Field Service Alliance Program, Aage Hempel will use its technical expertise and experience to service and repair satellite communications equipment on board vessels.
Airbus Defence and Space is a division of Airbus Group formed by combining the business activities of Cassidian, Astrium and Airbus Military. The new division is Europe’s number one defence and space enterprise, the second largest space business worldwide and among the top ten global defence enterprises. It employs some 40,000 employees generating revenues of approximately €14 billion per year.
The Airbus Defence and Space Global Field Service Alliance has been implemented to ensure fast response and high quality servicing for its maritime satcom services users anywhere in the world. The company is selecting the highest quality service partners, in order to strengthens its extensive AuroraGlobal network, a global multi-band network offering satcoms services on Ku-, Ka-, C-and X-band, with L-band back-up as standard.
As a well-established company in the maritime market, specialising in the service, sales and installation of a variety of maritime equipment including navigation, communication and safety equipment, Aage Hempel is well positioned to support Airbus Defence and Space satcoms service users, from 20 worldwide locations.
